What are Best Practices Standards?
Techniques, or methodologies, which are optimized to produce efficient and effective repeatable results and have been examined and adopted as a standard, by a relevant, subject matter knowledgeable and independent authority.
With respect to the Best Practices at ITG, we adhere to ISO Standards and CMMI Maturity Model framework
ITG’s best practices are based on the following standards:
- ISO 9001 – Provides the requirements to maintain the expected quality to meet customer requirements
- ISO 27001 – Provides the policies and controls required to establish an information security program and treat identified risks to the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information
- ISO 20000-1 – Provides guidance on the required practices for designing, delivering, and managing services
- The CMMI framework that ITG has implemented include CMMI at Maturity Level 3 for Development and Services.

What is the QMS, (Quality Management System)? | QMS is a management system containing the applicable assemblage of processes and policies, which when implemented, provides optimum utilization of resources required to achieve an organization’s objectives. The ITG QMS is a convergence of multiple standards and quality practices and is described in the ITG Quality Manual.

What is the ITG Quality policy? | The Customer will be satisfied.

What is a Quality Procedure/Work Instruction? | A document containing the information about a process which is sponsored, created, formatted, approved and released by a designated authority and is incorporated in the organization’s QMS.

What is a “Quality” Document?

A Quality Document contains the description of a policy, a process, or a form, which are part of, or aid in the operation of the Quality Management System. This type of document is subject to Document Control. |
What is the Document Control System? | A Document Control System is a set of methodologies which define the rules that govern the storage and management of an organization’s critical documents.
The ITG relevant system has been programmatically implemented in the CENTRE DCS. |
What and who is the DCS Administrator? | The DCS Administrator is the staff member responsible for vetting and submitting documents into DCS. |
What is a Record? | A record is a document which contains the results of a Company transaction or evidence of activities performed. |
What is the Records Control System? | An RCS Administrator is a department’s designated staff member in charge of observing the Records Control Procedure and managing accordingly, the Department’s Records. |
What is RCS Administrator? | An RCS Administrator is a department’s designated staff member in charge of observing the Records Control Procedure and managing accordingly, the Department’s Records. |
What is a Best Practices Manager? | The Best Practices Manager is the staff member designated by the Best Practices Management Review Board to oversee, audit, appraise, improve and ensure the uninterrupted operation of the organization’s QMS. |
What is an “Audit”? | A review of operational practices, with the objective of identifying compliance with initiated, accepted, established and adopted rules.
With respect to ISO related Best Practices, there two types of “Audits”: Internal Audits, which are performed by Company employees, trained and designated as “Internal Auditors” ITG conducts audits on a bi-annual basis, at a minimum. External Audits, which are performed by auditors authorized and employed by the Certification body or Registrar. |
What is an “Appraisal”? | A review of operational practices, with the objective of identifying the level of compliance with initiated, accepted, established and adopted standards.
With respect to CMMI related practices, there are the two most common types of “Appraisals” An Evaluation Appraisal, which is used to gauge progress and prepare for an eventual Benchmark Appraisal. This does not produce ratings, and is intended to be a flexible approach to determine opportunities for process or performance improvement A Benchmark Appraisal, which determines the level of maturity of an organization, in the context of CMMI array of practice areas. |
